Sometimes a picture needs a re-thinking, a change in the world of a picture, and a turn upside down, which I did here. (Note the feet walking the wrong way.) It’s a picture I’ve been looking for, that reflection/abstraction image that needs to be literally turned around in post to be completed because on the street you couldn’t pull it off because… physics. Here I didn’t quite pull it off, too dark, not enough definition: other than the clouds, there’s no easily defined subject. So I will try again when the opportunity presents itself. It’s a thing that all street photographers do, finding a certain type of picture, the perfect reflection, the perfect abstraction, the perfect interplay between subjects. Those pictures are not the same but they follow a certain pattern, like going back to the same street corner and just to stay there, to as we say « fish ». Or sometimes like here you just find a great puddle and you look for the right angle, with the lens you got and you move on, still looking for perfect puddles. //

Parfois, une photo a besoin d’être repensée, d’un changement dans son univers, et d’un retournement complet, ce que j’ai fait ici. (Remarquez les pieds qui marchent dans le mauvais sens.) C’est l’image que je cherchais, ce reflet/abstraction qui doit littéralement être retourné en post-production pour être complété, parce que dans la rue, c’était impossible… à cause de la physique. Ici, je n’ai pas vraiment réussi, trop sombre, pas assez de définition : à part les nuages, il n’y a pas de sujet facilement identifiable. Donc, je réessaierai quand l’occasion se présentera.

C’est quelque chose que tous les photographes de rue font : chercher un certain type d’image, le reflet parfait, l’abstraction parfaite, l’interaction parfaite entre les sujets. Ces photos ne sont pas identiques, mais elles suivent un certain schéma, comme retourner au même coin de rue et simplement y rester, pour « pêcher » comme on dit. Ou parfois, comme ici, on trouve juste une superbe flaque d’eau et on cherche le bon angle, avec l’objectif qu’on a, puis on continue, toujours à la recherche des flaques parfaites.
