The workflow

The Palais des Congrès in Montreal: very close to the metro station and is very modern. It’s filled with mirrored surfaces and colours, but it feels a bit cold. I approached the public space as an abstract image. The mirrored surfaces warp your perception of the place, and in this picture, the view wouldn’t be certain of what’s real and what’s reflected if it weren’t for the distortion of the mirrors. Yet one must look twice before identifying what’s what. In the post processing, I made sure the colours and forms were well seen. //

Le Palais des Congrès à Montréal : très proche de la station de métro et très moderne. Il est rempli de surfaces réfléchissantes et de couleurs, mais il dégage une certaine froideur. J'ai abordé l'espace public comme une image abstraite. Les surfaces réfléchissantes déforment la perception de l'endroit et, dans cette image, il serait difficile de distinguer ce qui est réel de ce qui est réfléchi sans la distorsion des miroirs. Pourtant, il faut regarder à deux reprises avant d'identifier ce qui est quoi. Lors du post-traitement, je me suis assuré que les couleurs et les formes soient bien visibles.
