We are creatures of habit. We (I) get used to things. During the summer, I had to put my 50mm lens out to repair; it meant that for some 7 weeks, I only (mostly) used my 35mm lens every time I was going out. And I got to really use to it. I knew its range, I knew how close I needed to get to be in focus and catching what I wanted within the frame. But then I got my 50mm back, and I right away wanted to test it. This is the first picture I took with it, and it’s incomplete. I got too close, and I did get the third girl that’s on the left who also had this wonderful hat; you can see her wrist and all because I was still in that 35mm mood. I don’t mind the picture. I like it, but it would have been better with the third. It’s a lesson: learn your equipment but take your time when you inevitably change something. And then learn that. //
Nous sommes des créatures d’habitude. Nous (je) nous habituons aux choses. Pendant cette été, j'ai dû envoyer mon objectif de 50 mm en réparation; cela signifiait que pendant environ 7 semaines, j'ai seulement (principalement) utilisé mon objectif de 35 mm chaque fois que je sortais. Et je m'y suis vraiment habituée. Je connaissais sa portée, je sais à quelle distance je devais me rapprocher pour être net et capturer ce que je voulais dans le cadre.
Mais ensuite, quand j'ai récupéré mon 50 mm, et qui j'ai tout de suite voulu le tester. Voici la première photo que j’ai prise avec, et elle est incomplète. Je me suis trop approchée, et je pensais avoir capté la troisième fille à gauche qui portait aussi un chapeau magnifique; vous pouvez voir son poignet et tout, car j'étais encore dans l’esprit du 35 mm.
Malgré tout, j’aime bien la photo, mais elle aurait été meilleure avec la troisième fille entière. C’est une leçon : apprenez à maîtriser votre équipement, mais prenez votre temps lorsque vous changez inévitablement quelque chose. Puis, apprenez cela aussi.
